I am excited to announce that the Non-Profit Organization, Eating Protein Saves Lives, is launching its very first big public on-line event on November 7th at 7 PM Eastern.

The event is a recovery-coach-led 7-day Eat Protein Every 4 hours Facebook Live Challenge. During this challenge we will be encouraging all the participants to eat 15-20 grams of protein every 4 waking hours, and to lay off the sugary foods and drinks for 7 days. We will be offering live support and encouragement, along with information, success stories, tips and recipes.

The purpose of this challenge is to give everyone a chance to experience improvement in their mood, energy and stability, while being supported in an encouraging environment by people who have already walked this path. Many people, when they eat this way, often also experience a decrease in cravings and even less relapse into addictive or violent behaviors. But this type of life-style change can be hard to do alone. At the end of the week, we ask everyone to share stories of what changed for them.

The 7-day challenge will be followed by a weekly online recovery meeting to help people continue to heal and support their own brains with optimal nutrition.

Nothing like this currently exists! Current recovery meetings of a variety of sorts address the emotional, social and spiritual needs of their participants, but ignore the brain! The biochemistry of addiction and recovery is left out.  Our recovery meetings will focus on this “3rd leg of the stool” because we’ve found that when people use food and nutrients to support the recovering brain, it becomes so much easier to do the rest of the recovery work.
